The Man With The Golden Voice

The man in the video above has just been offered a full time job by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers. What should we make of this?

The Sign:

“I have a God given gift of voice.  I’m an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be gratefully appreciated 🙂 Thank you and God bless you. Happy holidays.”

The first thing that jumps out to me is that this man recognizes he has a unique talent.  He also knows that all he needs is an opportunity in order to establish himself again.

“I’m trying hard to get it back and hopefully somebody from one of these radio or television stations says, “hey, I need a voiceover.”

Here is where it gets interesting…he chooses to stand in what seems to be a highly visible area where thousands of people pass by him without acknowledging his presence.

Maybe they were skeptical? Right, there goes the homeless radio announcer.  Tell me another one.

Then, it happens.  Another man decided to listen, which is all that he was asking.  Does he sound like a bum or does he sound like a radio announcer?

To his amazement, he sounded like a radio announcer.  He took the next step and decided to do something.  Many others had heard this guy talk, but no one had done anything about it.  Now, because of one man’s actions, the rest is history.

How many times have you seen someone looking for an opportunity and turned the other way?

The next time you are in a position to help someone, I encourage you to do so.

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or in prison, and did not help you?’  “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ – Matthew 25:44-45

“I think an influencer is somebody that other people listen to and react to.”

“…he’s different because he doesn’t do it with his mouth.  He doesn’t speak.  He doesn’t say things. He does it by living.  Like, his actions.”

“When you get to a certain place…if someone has helped you get to where you are, you must help identify younger talent and be the mentor to somebody else.”

“I think influence is all relative…”

“The importance of the consumer is becoming paramount again.”

“It’s really an exciting time.  To see who the icons of this new era are going to be…I mean, I think we gotta wait and see.”
