How To Become A Morning Person

1. Be in bed before midnight.

Every hour before midnight counts as two.
2. Decide you’re going to get up.
Before 8 AM.
Keep the alarm clock away from you so you have to get up.  
Do not hit snooze.  
Do not rationalize.
If I told you, 
I’ll give you a million dollars if you wake up at 5 AM to start your day every morning…”
You’d do it…period.
3. Do not depend on other people.
If they make excuses, you’ll make excuses.
4. Plan to do something productive as soon as you wake up.
Maybe start with a brisk walk and transition into exercise.
Homework? Laundry? Budget?
5. Do what you planned.
Anybody can make a plan…
But what separates the big boys from the little boys, or the big girls form the little…(nevermind)
Is sticking to that plan and making it happen.
For example:  Getting out of bed as soon as you hear your alarm, no matter how tired you feel because your body clock is adjusting to the time change, shaking it off, and hopping on that treadmill.
6. Play music while you do that fruitful task.
We are rhythmic beings.  Pick a song that gets your heart pumping and sets the pace for your day.

7. Make a schedule for the rest of your day and…
Stick to it – See number four.
8.  Think about the benefits.
Can’t think of any?
If you go to bed early and get up early…
– There are less distractions.  It’s quiet.
– Less traffic.
– Your body is well rested.
– You’re not tired all day.
– You’re not rushed to get to your morning destination(s).
– You have time to make a healthy breakfast and have less temptation for unhealthy fast food.
– You are more likely to finish everything that needs to be done in your day much earlier than you used to…which frees up your afternoons and evenings for socializing or getting ahead on some other work that needs to be done…I prefer the latter.
